Honoree: Jahnice Griffith

Jahnice Griffith

My name is Jahnice Griffith, and I am a junior at Lincoln University of Pennsylvania, the first degree-granting HBCU, where I major in Criminal Justice with a minor in Psychology. I aspire to pursue a career as a detective or within the CSI field, driven by a passion for justice and compassion for others.

I was born and raised in Brooklyn, New York, and last year I experienced one of the most defining moments of my life with the loss of my mother, Joycelyn Bartholomew. She was my greatest source of strength, and continuing my education through grief has been one of the hardest and most meaningful journeys I have taken. Everything I do is rooted in honoring her legacy and the values she instilled in me.

At Lincoln University, I am actively involved in leadership and service through organizations such as the Caribbean Dance Team, Caribbean Student Association, GQ, the National Council of Negro Women, Big Sister Little Sister, and Generation Action. These experiences have shaped my commitment to mentorship, advocacy, and community engagement.

My strong faith in God, creativity, and service keep me grounded through the hills and valleys of life. I am especially grateful for the love and support of my beloved grandmother Janeth Griffith and for my church family at Jon Hus Moravian Church in Brooklyn where I am a member of the Soul Survivors Choir and the Praise Dance Team.

I am deeply honored to be recognized by the Daisy Wong Family Foundation today. This moment represents resilience, purpose, and the unwavering support of those who believed in me even when the journey felt heavy. Thank you for this incredible honor. Your generosity and support are greatly appreciated.
