In Loving Memory

The Daisy Wong Family Foundation proudly honors the memory of Lunsford Lauriston Richardson, Daisy Wong’s oldest son, whose life was tragically cut short at age 28. Lunsford disappeared along with five passengers while piloting an aircraft en route to St. Thomas, leaving an indelible mark on the Anguillan community, his friends, and his family.

A Life Remembered

Lunsford’s life, though brief, was full of accomplishments and qualities that inspired all who knew him:

  • Trailblazing cricketer, the first in his community to score 100 runs without being dismissed
  • Avid reader, deeply curious and committed to learning
  • Respected friend and neighbor, admired for his integrity and generosity
  • Cherished member of the Rey Hill community, whose presence and spirit remain unforgettable

Scholarship Purpose

The Lunsford Lauriston Richardson Memorial Scholarship was established to continue Lunsford’s legacy by supporting young people who reflect his values of perseverance, curiosity, leadership, and community service.

This scholarship provides resources to help recipients pursue education, training, or skill development that fosters personal growth and opens pathways to meaningful opportunities, echoing the excellence and commitment that defined Lunsford’s life.

Who May Apply

Applicants must:

  • Be residents of Anguilla (or other geographic area as determined by DWFF)
  • Be pursuing secondary, post-secondary, vocational, or professional education
  • Demonstrate commitment to community, personal growth, and excellence
  • Exhibit integrity, resilience, and a strong work ethic


Areas of Study Encouraged

While all fields of study are welcome, preference may be given to applicants with interests in areas that reflect Lunsford’s passions and strengths:

  • Aviation or aeronautics
  • Maritime or transportation fields
  • Sports, physical education, or coaching
  • Literature, education, or humanities
  • Community leadership or public service


Scholarship Award

  • Award Amount: [Amount to be determined]
  • Frequency: Annual for up to 4 years if a GPA of 3.0 is maintained
  • Use of Funds: Tuition, books, training fees, or educational materials

  • Recipients are selected based on:
  • Academic or skill-based effort and personal determination

  • Community involvement or service
